Grown up as in the streets of the East Bronx in New York City, Meyerowitz said he experienced “a peaceful relationship with the energy and the spontaneous madness of life of those streets.” After seeing Robert Franck realizing a little advertising work, he was struck: “What really struck me was the magic of the simple fact that you” moved “while taking photographs to people they even moving! And that was enough for me! I quit my job, borrowed a camera, I went out to the streets of New York, and since then I have never looked back.”
