Laura Serani is a curator and author. She regularly collaborates with institutions, festivals and publishers in Europe and elsewhere.
President of the Prix Résidence pour la Photographie and consultant for the Fondation Les Treilles in France, since 2015.
She was the Art director for the 2014 and 2008 editions of the Mois de la Photo in Paris, Art director of the Rencontres de Bamako, African biennial of photography, held in Mali in 2011 and 2009, curator for Fotografia Europea – Reggio Emilia, from 2007 until 2015, and director of the Sifest, in 2007 and 2008. Previously, she was Director of the Fnac Collection and of the Fnac Galleries (Europe, Brasil and Taiwan), from 1986 to 2006. Author of several books and texts, among her last publications: The Polarities, Larry Fink (Collection L’Artiere), Bologne 2017; Prémonition, Cécile Menendez (Ed. She is also author of a series of dvd/projections about Emerging photography in France, inItaly, in Turkey. Curator of the Celeste Prize /Visible White 2017; member of Oracle, and of various grant juries (Prix Scam-Roger Pic, Prix Niépce, World Press, New York Photo Awards, Vipa/Wien, Prix de la Fondation Manuel Rivera-Ortiz, Circulations, Premio Emergentes Braga, Villa Perochon, Pop Cap, MedPhoto/Crete, Luz Award/BuenosAires … ), she is also nominator for several prizes (Prix Pictet, Mack Books, British Journal of Photography ..). Laura Serani lives in Paris where she launched and still directs the ephemeral gallery Omnibus Circus.
