MOMENTI NELLA COMUNITA’ EBRAICA DI MILANO — ANNA MARIA GERMONTANI

curated by Giuliana Scimé

The research by Anna Maria Germontani focuses on a-Catholic communities in Milan.
The images documenting moments in the Jewish community, were taken from 1991 to 1995 and extrapolated from that long narrative current which concerned the different religions co-existing in the territory.
Germontani states: “I had the opportunity to be invited to intimate ceremonies in the Jewish community, such as the testimonies of marriages with their symbolism, both in merely liturgical rituals and in the carefree dances that seal in joy the union.”
The choice of these two unique moments, Festival of Lights and weddings, it’s not a coincidence, but responds to the specific aim to mark, although synthetically, the vitality and the hope that dwells in all of us.
