Romano Cagnoni Photolux Award 2019

On the occasion of the 2019 edition of the Photolux Festival. International Biennial of Photography, Photolux and AFIP, in cooperation with 6Mois and Internazionale, promote an international award dedicated to Romano Cagnoni and addressed to photojournalists.

Submissions are free of charge and open to all photographers or collectives, professionals and non, from all countries.

You could submit a project realized in 2018 and preferably unpublished. You could also submit a long-term project, even on going, including almost 10 pictures taken in 2018.

Submissions should included:

  • a curriculum vitae and a short bio with personal data of the author: name, surname, address, phone number, e-mail address (max 1000 characters);
  • title and statement of the project (max 2000 characters);
  • a minimum of 15 until a maximum of 35 images. Images should be .jpegs that are a minimum of 1500 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Each image submitted must have a corresponding high resolution file available (300 dpi, 18×24 cm) which will be requested if your work is selected for the call.

By submitting photographs you are stipulating to us that you own the copyright to these photographs and have consents to publish them from all the subjects clearly identifiable included in the photographs.

The projects must be submitted before and not later than September 15th, 2019 on LensCulture platform here :

The jury will meet during the month of September 2019.
The winner of the contest will be announced within the end of September 2019.
THE JURY RESERVES THE RIGHT NOT TO DECLARE A WINNER in case that there are no submissions deemed apt for the prize.


The shortlist, composed by the ten finalist projects, will be announced on the Festival website as well as social networks.
The winner will have the opportunity to have his/her project published on Internazionale and 6Mois or to get an assignment for the magazine. Both the publication and the assignment will be properly paid. The winner will also have his work produced and shown in an exhibition included in the official exhibitions’ program of Photolux Festival 2019.
