Weng Fen (Weng Peijun, 1961) graduated in 1985 from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and now works at Hainan University College of Art and teaches Photography and painting. He currently lives between Haikou and Beijing.
In 1999 he began to focus on the background of economic globalization, on China’s urbanization and rural areas issues, on the rapid changes in the urban environment and on the psychological conflict.
Weng Fen works have been exhibited among others at Pompidou Center in Paris, the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo Mori Art Museum. He participated in the “Shanghai Biennale”, “Guangzhou Triennial”, “Prague Biennial Exhibition “. His photographs are collected at Pompidou Center, New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York Museum of Modern Art, International Center of Photography in New York and other collections.
