Artist’s residence with Lola Reboud |Viareggio April 28 – May 13, 2018

Photolux Festival and the Centre Méditerranéen de la Photographie start a brand new collaboration: a special program of artist residency in Lucca, Italy and in Bastia, Corse, France. The project aims to encourage a fertile cultural research and exchange and the promotion of young emergent photography at an international level.

In 2017 edition, Photolux will create a new award dedicated to the best portfolio presented during the Porfolio Reviews sessions. The reviewers will select the best 5 portfolio. Among them, the Centre Méditerranéen de la Photographie will choose the best work. The winner will be host in a artist residency in Bastia (from a minimum of 15 days to a maximum of 30 day, depending on the project) to develop a project that must propose a personal vision of the city of Bastia or the Corsican landscape. On the other hand, the Centre Méditerranéen de la Photographie will select 5 photographers for their residency program. Among them, Photolux will chose the winner who will be host in an artist residency in Lucca for 15 days to develop a project that must propose a personal vision of Lucca and its sourroundings. Both the projects realized over the course of the residencies will be produced and exhibited during the 2018 editions both in Lucca and Bastia.

Lola Reboud was born in France in 1982. She studied Fine Arts in Paris at École Nationale des Beaux-Arts Paris-Cergy then photography at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs and aesthetics at La Sorbonne. Her artistic work exists at the crossroad between fiction and documentary, focusing on geography and people in equal measures. It has been exhibited in France and abroad, including CentQuatre, Paris Photo – Galerie du jour – Agnès b.,  Nooderlicht photo festival, Photaumnales, La Box gallery, Kyotographie Kg+, CCO Art Center-Osaka, Collection Yvon Lambert, IF Cambodia(…).

For the PhotoLux residency, starting from encounter with people living in the city of Viareggio and around, I would focus on meeting places and activities, in connection and interdependence to Climates during the springtime.
