The European Photo Exhibition Award – epea for short – aims to create a free space where socially relevant topics concerning Europe are developed and discussed by talented photographers, who live and work in Europe and who still are at an early stage of establishing themselves as professional photographers. The twelve appointed photographers will translate their observations, analyses and statements on a set and socially relevant subject into a photo essay.

In this second edition, the participating photographers will be asked to portray the new social scenarios, working on issues of great relevance and trying to explore the revealing signs of the changes in cultural identity, lifestyle, ways of communication, in an analytic criticism of the new models of civic, social and political partecipation.
After Oslo, the exhibition will move to Lucca, in the Palace of Exhibitions Foundation BML which will be staged from September 6 to October 5, then it will move to Paris, and finally Hamburg, at the end of March 2015.
