Angela Ferreira is the Artistic Advisor of Photographic Museum of Fortaleza, Brazil and Assistant teacher at Media Arts & Design School, Portugal. She is an artist, curator, researcher and art educator, Phd in Photography and Visual Communication at Universidade do Minho, Portugal and Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is graduated at Utrecht School of Arts-Holland (European Media Master in Digital Photography) and have a Master in Curatorial studies and art direction. Ângela has contributed with articles to diverse magazines, interviewed international artists, and introduced their work to the Portuguese and Brazilian Scene, based on her professional background, and expertise, in the field of art photography. Ângela Ferreira was for the last 10 years ( 2006-2016) the director & curator of the Portuguese PhotoFestival Encontros da Imagem, Braga, an international festival specialized in exchange of fine art photography, finding and introducing contemporary artists around the world. She is especially interested in documentary and photoessays oriented work as well as compelling work addressing contemporary issues whether abstract or concrete. She is looking for well-edited portfolios to include in Europeans Festivals, the Museum of Photography in Fortaleza Brazil, as well as for the purposes of nominating work for other photography institutions.
